Q: Why is there a need to transfer to LandBank when my transaction with UBP is ok?

A: The transfer of your pension account to LBP is not mandatory/compulsory. The GSIS Management, in its desire to extend its services, has tapped the LBP to provide additional servicing bank to the GSIS pensioners. The pensioner has the option to choose between LBP and UBP as his servicing bank.

Q: How about my eCARD? Will it be deactivated? Does it mean that I have to keep 2 ATM cards? What will be credited to my GSIS eCARD and to my LBP ATM card?

A: No, your GSIS eCard will not be deactivated if you decide to transfer to LBP. Your account with UBP will not be closed and you can still use it as your personal savings account. Your GSIS eCard will still be used for the Annual Renewal of your Active Status (ARAS). On the other hand, the LBP ATM card will be used to withdraw your monthly pension and loan proceeds.

Q: Is it possible that I maintain my account with UBP? I am already old and I find it hard to memorize many numbers for my PIN code.

Q: If ever I chose LBP to be my servicing bank, will there be a maintaining balance and how much?

A: There is no maintaining balance required if you choose LBP to be your servicing bank.

Q: Please explain the advantages of this new ATM card.

A: LBP has the most extensive branch network in the banking industry with branches in the country ’s 80 provinces. In addition, LBP has one of the widest ATM networks nationwide wherein the pensioner can transact at no cost.

Q: Do I have to enroll again in the eCARD so that I can withdraw with LBP?

A: No. The GSIS eCard will be retained since the card will be used for the renewal of your active status as pensioner of the GSIS. On the other hand, the ATM card that will be issued by LBP will be used for the payment/withdrawal of your monthly pension.

Q: Will the GSIS be putting-up kiosks in LBP branches so that I can do my ARAS there?

A: GSIS will study the feasibility of putting-up of kiosks in LBP branches. However, the GSIS in its desire to improve its services to its members and pensioners has decided to deploy additional kiosks in different municipalities nationwide.

Q: Do I need to go to LBP to be able to transfer my account? Can this be done automatically?

A: Yes. You have to visit the LBP branch as indicated in the letter you received from  GSIS/LBP to be able to get your ATM card/PIN mailer and fill-out the necessary forms in order to activate your account with LBP.

Q: I am bedridden but I want to transfer my account to LBP, what will I do?

A: You can request LBP for Home Visitation and a personnel from LBP will deliver the card to your home.

Q: Can my son/daughter, niece/nephew or caregiver apply for me in my behalf?

A: No, it is against the policy of the GSIS and LBP to enroll or release the card to the beneficiaries/ relatives of the pensioner. The pensioner should request for home visitation with either the GSIS or LBP in order for the GSIS to enroll him in the UMID if necessary or to LBP in order to release his ATM card.

Q: Do I have to change my PIN number if I transfer to LBP?

A: Yes. The new LBP ATM card comes with a PIN mailer which contains your PIN number. After you have encoded the PIN number indicated in the PIN mailer, you have an option to change your PIN number.

Q: How long will it take to receive my new ATM?

A: Your ATM card is ready for pick-up in the LBP branch as indicated in the letter. You can visit the LBP branch anytime.

Q: Will I get my pension earlier once I transfer to LBP?

A: The policy of the GSIS in the ecrediting of pension payment will not change. The crediting of your pension payment will still be on the 8”’ of the month.

Q: Can I use my existing LBP account for my pension or do I need to open a new account?

A: LBP will automatically open a new account for you where your monthly pension will be credited. This means that your existing LBP account will not be used to credit the payment for your pension.

Q: Do I need to go to LBP to open a new pension account even though I have existing records with the GSIS?

A: The new account is automatically opened by LBP, but you still have to go to LBP branch to get your ATM card as indicated in the letter you received. However, if you are sick or bedridden, you may request LBP for a home visit and they will release the card to you.

Q: If there is a need to go to LBP or GSIS for the opening of my LBP account for crediting of my pension, can I authorize my son/daughter, nephew/nieces, grandson/granddaughter because I am old and sick and I find it hard to travel?

A: LBP will automatically open a new account for you where your monthly pension will be credited but you are still required to go to the LBP branch as indicated in the letter be able to get your ATM card/PIN mailer and fill-out the necessary forms in order to activate your account with LBP. However, for pensioners who are sick or bedridden, they may request LBP for a home visit and they will release the card to you.

Q: Is it possible for pensioners to transact with LBP on line?

A: Yes, you may View or inquire about your account “on-line” provided you register to LBP’s “on-line” facility.
